SHEFFIELD MODEL

RAILWAY SOCIETY

About us.

We exist to promote the many and varied skills associated with the world of model railway building.  From basic construction of base boards to maintaining your rolling stock, scenery and more, there is always someone on hand to offer friendly advice and practical support.

From the romance of the steam era to the ever popular diesel age our members have a wide range of knowledge and experience  they bring to the society, so if you are just thinking about your first  layout or want to discuss the finer point of a specialised  topic  we are here to help. We also promote an interest in the American  and European “HO” prototypes.

The club own layouts in the popular “oo” and “o” gauges  So feel free to bring your own rolling stock and engines.

We meet each Thursday evening from 19:30 to 2200 at the Hillsborough Trinity Methodist Church opposite

Hillsborough Park on Middlewood Rd.

Located just a short walk from the tram stop there are several bus services covering the north of the city.

The society offers a warm welcome to all visitors and potential members.
